Yom Ha'atzmaut Part I

Ima, Abba and I had a very special Yom Ha'atzmaut which was a reunion of Ima's highschool Ulpanat Orot. We went to a field near Rechovot and picked fennel for tzedakah. (This was all organized by an amazing food rescue organization in Israel called table to table)

Abba definitely worked the hardest. But I helped pick off some of the leaves.

They were rather tasty, where are those leaves?

Yom Hazikaron

This is Hodaya's Ima.
Today is Yom Hazikaron, where here in Israel we remember those who fell in wars, and in terrorist attacks. My thoughts today are with the family of Koby Mandell. A young kid who skipped school one day to enjoy the beauty of the mountains of Eretz Yisrael and was brutally murdered in a cave. Feel free to look at the site of the foundation in his name http://www.kobymandell.org/ As an Ima this day resonates with me more than ever before. May our small country know peace and happy times and let our children be safe.

Bye Bye Dod Shmueli

Hey Dod Shmueli, it was fun hanging out with you, at the park, on the mirpeset, in my room. You're welcome back any time!

Hodaya in real time

Hodaya is doing so much now we just had to share two videos. One has a cameo from Dod Shmueli.

Dod Shmueli comes to Israel

Early in the morning before Shabbat Chol Hamoed Dod Shmueli landed in Israel for a visit. So exciting. We let him rest up a bit over Shabbat (spend with Meir and Leah Mergi and family) and then on Sunday we went on a tiyul.

With so much excitement on Pesach, I needed a little rest.

Pesach Tiyul

On the second day of Chol Hamoed (that's Thursday in Israel) we went on a tiyul in Nachal Katlav.

I traveled for most of the time in this fun backpack on Abba's back.

After the walk I rested under a tree and we enjoyed some oranges.

After carrying me around all afternoon Ima and Abba saw that I could have walked on the path just fine by myself!

Thanks for the table

This new table sponsored by Sabba Desmond and Savta Esther is just great for coloring! Thanks!

Fun in the Old City

After I met the Daniel Family I went with Ima and Abba for Aliya l'regel in the old city. There were so many people there.
Abba Ima and I sat in a quiet square to eat lunch.

Meeting Sara and Mordechai Daniel

Ima and Abba took me to meet Shani, Dov, Sara and Mordechai Daniel. Ima said that Shani and Dov helped Ima and Abba meet! Mordechai showed me how to play piano.

Here we are having a duet.

Chofesh

It's Chofesh and I get Ima and Abba's undivided attention all day! What could be better?

Our first Pesach Seder at home

Ima and Abba (and Ora and Zvi, and Shoshi and David - it was a joint effort by all) made our first Pesach Seder at home.
Erev Pesach all the kids hung out (and ate potatoes- what else) and sat on the new chairs from Savta Esther. The seder was really special, with thought provoking divrei Torah and yummy food (although I was asleep before it started - so Ima was able to go to shul!).

The night after the seder we took a group picture because you can't take pictures on Yom Tov of course!

Pesach Groceries

It seems like Abba and Ima have been shopping all week for Pesach. Ima went to the makolet and bought so much she needed to have it delivered in a big box. I'm helping her take it out.

Ima bought so many nice yogurts for me to eat on Pesach.

Here you go!

Hey what are these Pesachcrisps, where are my cheerios!

Playing with Adi

Before my cousin Adi flew off to South Africa for Pesach we stopped by to say goodbye. Ima was excited to catch us playing nicely together.

Hey are you taking a picture again!
